International Association of Women featured member Wendy Dalpez

Wendy Dalpez spent the first half of her career in the newspaper industry, moving from job to job. When she finally achieved her dream position, her salary was only half what her male counterparts earned. “I didn’t know what to do or say- but I knew in my heart that I would one day not be beholden to a job where someone else was in control of my financial future,” she said. Luckily, a chance encounter with a career ownership coach at a Rotary conference changed everything.

“I will never forget the day she asked what was holding me back and pointed out that I had been running multi-million dollar companies for other people,” Wendy said. “I knew she was right and that I could do that for myself. I wanted a business I knew could help people, and I knew how much value she had brought into my life. I wanted to do that for others.”

Her encounter was ten years ago, and today, Wendy owns The Entrepreneur’s Source, a franchise dedicated to supporting individuals’ entrepreneurial pursuits. She has helped over 100 clients in over 22 states open their businesses. “What I love most is hearing from a client about their successes,” she explained. “There is nothing better than a past client calling to tell me they hit their goals. Working towards others’ success keeps me motivated every day to bring my best self forward.”

She offers free online launchpads, franchise matching, educational resources, best practices for career transitions, and more. “I read recently that 90% of the world’s millionaires are men. Just 10% are women,” said Wendy. “I am on a mission to drastically increase that number as a Career Ownership Coach. I am a FREE resource to any woman who likes more information and has an open mind to learn. You can schedule a free coaching call me at https://wdalpez.youcanbook.me.”

Her daughter especially inspires her to continue overcoming obstacles and expanding. “I didn’t want her growing up watching her mom get passed over for opportunities or moving her around the country for new jobs that were no different than the last. I wanted her to recognize that my hard work paid off.” Wendy hopes that the future of her business will allow her to pass on generational wealth to her children and grandchildren.

Her willingness to take that leap of faith for her business is something Wendy imparts to other women entrepreneurs. “Keep an open mind and explore all your options! Only you can decide what is right for your career. But if you don’t give yourself time to explore what might be out there for you, you are only closing yourself off to what might be the perfect opportunity for your income, lifestyle, wealth, and equity goals,” she said.

Part of her business development plan included joining the International Association of Women (IAW). She joined IAW to connect with the global community of professional women and understand the issues facing women entrepreneurs. “I am jumping right in and making IAW a priority,” said Wendy. “The IAW network of entrepreneurs and other types of coaches gave me a great personal network to connect with my clients. IAW inspires me to help more women become self-sufficient and empowered!”
